Birthday Celebration - 17!!!??!!

I think it is pretty cool to be born on a holiday... especially if that holiday is Valentine's Day. Our lovely daughter turned 17 on Valentine's Day And a 2 Day celebration took place. My advice to her long ago was, "Don't accept a combo-gift for Valentine's Day on your Birthday." We (her father and I) always buy her birthday gifts AND a Valentine's Day gift. What a beautiful young lady! Happy Birthday! sweet The Girls! Brother, Adam, and future sister-in-law, Thien Spoiled rotten by Adam and Thien What a look! Brother Aaron and girlfriend, Sofi Proud and happy parents Hahahaha! awww... Gifts Birthday cake(s) I have not shared my motherly advice with Rebecca's boyfriend. She says she didn't tell him either. He must be an intelligent young man. He brought her Valentine's Day gifts before school on Monday And Birthday gifts in the evening. Foto Fun Birthday Bash

June is fun at our house when we can all get together. It is a birthday filled month! My mom. Our oldest son, Adam. Our second son, Aaron. June 11, June 11, and June 12. Fun stuff! Here is how we celebrated this year when Adam flew in from Washington D.C., my mom drove down from Tulsa, and Aaron came for the weekend from Denton, where he lives and goes to school. The beginning of the spread of food... Grandma and Grandson - the 2 June 11th birthdays... Aaron - June 12 Checking out the xap xap (Vietnamese salad made with beef jerky and green papaya) It is SO good! Not playing hard yet, just chillin' Now, here is some serious play! Or not so serious... Feed the bellies. Let's dry off a bit and relax Mother and son (I miss him much...can't wait for him to move here soon!) Awww, it must be sweet. Look at that smile. Not sure what to think about the way my boys relax. :/

Christmas in June?

The day finally arrived and my oldest son has now arrived from Washington D.C. area! Yesterday was his birthday. It was also my mom's birthday. And today....my second son's birthday! So, in June, we have a celebration that is nearly as big as Christmas - at least in our hearts! This year is special! The oldest, the one living in D.C. will be apartment hunting while he is here! He and his future wife are officially moving to Texas! She has been here for a couple of months, establishing residency so that she can go to grad school in Texas. And my son, finally found a way to get here permanently. Yippee! So this little note will be quick, since I have lots of playing to do! And lots of cooking too! The pool, the back porch, grill, refrigerators and ice-chests...all in for a lot of use in the next couple of days! After all...it is Christmas in June!

SWEET SIXTEEN

Today, February 14, 2010 our beautiful daughter turned 16 years old! We celebrated all weekend long! Here is what part of our festivities looked like! A group of friends went to see the movie "Valentine's Day" at the local movie theater. And no birthday is complete without a few family photographs! An Italian feast was served, Rebecca's favorite - Cheese Ravioli's, choice of 3 different sauces, salad, and garlic bread. There was serious cupcake decorating that took place after dinner. All the cupcakes were very creative! And everyone had a lot of fun customizing their own desserts! After the delicious meal and dessert, it was time to open gifts! And then some moments that were simply worth remembering! HAPPY SWEET SIXTEEN TO OUR BEAUTIFUL REBECCA! We find it so hard to believe that you are no longer a little girl, but a lovely young woman! We are so proud of you and we love you very much! What a joy to have you in our lives, and what a pleasure it was to celebrate...

Happy Day of Love

I love Valentine's Day! And if you have never served your husband dinner in your bedroom, you should try it! It is crazy romantic! Today is also my sweet daughter's birthday! (hence having already celebrated Valentines Day with my sweetie!) I will post a tribute to my lovely daughter later, but for now- HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SWEET REBECCA!
